Support Team Shaun_E Posted March 14, 2005 Support Team Share Posted March 14, 2005 What kind of rivets (steel or aluminium) should be used to rivet the inner sideskins to the chassis? Are there any other parts that should use a particular type of rivet? Yellow SL #
CharlesElliott
Alu is fine for this. Steel for the floor - apart from that, I don't know of any particular requirement for steel rivets. Irrelevant
Bit pedantic, but stainless is best for the floor as it won't react with the ally and won't rust. Steel rivets are cheap & relatively easy to pop. Stainless are very expensive and hard to pop with a handheld rivetter. I needed 2' bars on each handle to pop the 4.8mm stainless rivets I used on my floor . Shaun_E: You can get stainless rivets from AHC - the nut and bolt place on the A30 in Camberley. Getting there....
