seven7
I have 15" wheels on a 1.6 K series supersport. The current Pilots are near the end of their lives. I use the car mainly on the road with the occasional (2-3 per Year) track days. What should I replace them with. I know this topic keeps on cropping up but most of the questions seem to be for 13" wheels. Any advice would be most welcome. Chris
murph7355
Bridegstone RE720s seem to get rgeular thumbs ups for the larger wheels where absolute grip isn't paramount (or regulations prevent using anything else). Or Yoko do 32Rs in 15" if you don't mind replacing them often (I've not been out in the wet yet to decide on their abilities there in comparison to other tyres I've tried). Blatman
I thought the larger Bridgestones of the same compound as the RE720 was an SO2. ISTR that the SO2 has been superceded by the SO3......If you can afford the 32r's though, no contest.......
Mike C.
When I was speaking to Avon Racing a few months ago, they mentioned that they would almost certainly be developing a 15" version of the CR500 tyre for Caterham. If so, this might well be the optimum road/track, wet/dry compromise. Having said that, I am totally converted to the 13" wheel/tyre configuration for any serious Caterham.
