So now my sock was nailed-on - and I couldn't pull the pin out (just as well, otherwise my foot would have exploded. Fire in the sock! etc.) Anyway, my father removed the pin. Fire in the... Managed to "explode" a glass cooker hob cover in a holiday flat (don't ask) and sent squillions of glass shards flying across the (tiled) kitchen floor.
