Bob Corb Posted February 27, 2005 Share Posted February 27, 2005 Its risky, the connection back into the sump is vertical, therefore you'd need to bolt an elbow fitting on. This would then be the lowest point on the leading edge of the engine and would no doubt get wiped out on your first sump grazing. Also its hard to imagine that the pump will be orientated correctly to avoid the steering, cooling pipes and then allow you to build a reasoanble engine mount around it. If its a standard pace type pump you'd be okay but for the price of a new Pace installation and the hassle of fitting this one... BC Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The connection back into the sump is at a different height to the steady bar fixing nearby (not used on the Caterham but is on an MGF) and this should protect the elbow. I can take some photos from a different angle to show this if you're interested. The scavange pumps are designed to fit to the side of the water pump, but I have no photos of it installed.
