newby
I have a limited milage insurance policy which my current insurance company will not allow me to change until my policy renewal. However, I have an upcoming track day at Goodwood and wondered if there is an easy way of disconnecting the speedo on my roadsport? Is there any way that my insurance company or Caterham could tell that I have disconnected the speedo?
bl0498
Hi, If you have the mechanical driven speedo then simply disconnect at either end - the speedo end is probably easier - just unscrew the collar... Brian
KenEvans
Another way that they might suspect that you've disconnected the speedo of course is by seeing your post in here - DOH!!! :-) Ken
newby
I forgot to mention that there does not appear to be a cable per say into the speedo as it appears to be electrical.
jonhill
I'm with Footman James, and on TDs for which they are not covering me they will deduct the mileage I do on the track from my limited mileage quota. Try asking you insurers to do the same. If they aren't covering you, you shouldn't be paying them, which you effectively are doing if they don't take this mileage off your quota. Cheers, Jon
