RodW
Have recently read in the Forum of a produdt called "Rubbercoat" from car Products, which protects wings from star crazing as a result of stones etc striking the underside of wings, I would be grateful if someone out there in the great seven ether could tell me where to get the stuff from, its cost etc. I am based quite close to Leeds. It would be nice to use it before the wings are damaged - just passed the SVA on Saturday! Ta. Rod W.
PeterS
They regularly appear at Stoneleigh Kit Car Show. I don't have their info to hand, but if you make it to next year's show, I'm sure they will be there. Normally there is a special offer on price for products bought at the show. Edzup Ezzer
I've got a tin of said 'Rubbercoat' (sounds kinky!). Company is called Carlife, Westbrook Works, 140 Thornton Road, Bradford, BD1 2DX. Don't have any first hand knowledge about it to my regret as I have two large star cracks in my front wing - never got round to applying it! I understand it doesn't have a very long shelf life so don't keep it hanging round before using it. Cheers Ezzer

RodW
Thanks for the replies. In the interim between my original posting and now I did manage to track it down. The supplier turns out to be quite near to me, a pleasant chap, trading as Carlife Products. The phone number is 01943 870148 and the address; Carlife, 51 Oxford Avenue, Guiseley, Leeds, LS20 9BY. Don't know if its locally available in East Anglia, Chris, but Carlife mainly trades by mail anyway. A 1 kg tin was plenty for the front cycle and rear wings (providing I put it on thickly enough!) which cost £14.50 inc p&p. Now all I have to do is wait for the nice Vehicle Licensing Officer to visit me and the car - why did no-one tell me that they have to inspect even cars with a certificate of newness and every piece of paperwork?
