rossybee
And he's come up trumps once again Don't know where to start... East Fortune track is immediately to the east of the Sunday market site and on the same runway of the original airfield In the past the track was on 2 farmers land with one farmer owning only the bottom hairpin and wanting half the track hire money. There are temporary fence posts right across the track. Melville Motorcycle Club run bike racing there and have made loads of improvements over the years and AFAIK the bottom corner has now been altered so all the track is on one farmers ground. I competed in my first ever Sprint there in 1993 :) The track is basically flat airfield style and ever so slightly convex, such that viewing is not possible. Heading North the first bend as I remember is very fast 90 degree and a wee bit bumpy, then a long straight into the top RH hairpin, very wide with lots of lines a left kink exit (more of a swan neck really) that is great fun, down hill gathering speed and turn into the right hand start of the essses that can be very fast but due to the second part arriving it's best to back off and get a good run down to the bottom hairpin....this is probably changed now....and then back uphill to start the lap again. Located very near Haddington on the A1 and just 20 miles from my Holiday Flat in Eyemouth. The East Fortune Museum of Flight is nearby too. Cracking roads down over the Lammermuirs to Duns and the Jim Clark Museum Lawrence Suit you sir 🤔 😬 Sssssscottish SsssuperSsssnot! Ssssneakypeek! and Having fun! GTD
Sounds interesting - might be 2006 though before we get to do a Scottingland tour! Though as an old friend of mine sprints an old Ford Escort up there from Aberdeen, it would be a good thing to all get together!
