I am reminded of a Classic student evening which involveda sober Delbert driving his pride and joy Merc 280CE with 5 up.

 

Get pulled over by the metropolitans finest.

 

5 drunk hockey girls and Rugby boys pile out.

 

All lined up along the kerb the questions start

 

Copper " WHo are you?"

 

Prop forward " Charles , Prince Sir"

As you can see the slide is starting

 

Hockey Girl " Diana Regina with a cute......"

 

Finally the breath test the sober Delbert and the crystals proove this to be so..

 

Just when we are starting to pile back into the Merc- one occupant as it is only a 5 seater and we have 6 the coppers radio goes

 

the questioning starts again

 

" Were you at the Penrhyn Road bar tonight"

 

"Yes I reply"

 

Copper " Know anything about some stolen flashing lights from a skip and half a pinball machine?"

 

In all innocence I answer " No sir"

 

The Copper then asks to check my boot

 

You can imagine my surptise when I opened up the lid to find the Blackpool illuminations flashing back framing a pin ball machine.

 

Another free breakfast at Kingston nick and another caution 😬

It was the best shag wagon I ever owned, only the 2cv came close...

 

Used to block a fire exit at the SU bar, the DJ would then announce would the owner of the Merc.... I'd make it known it was mine and the next minute some money grabbing blonde was in the passenger seat... and off to gypsy hill 😬
