dogvet
How often do you feel this ought to be changed on a track day car? How often do you bleed the brakes? before every track day? Thanks once more.
Paul Ranson
I would bleed the brakes once at the begining of the season and once in the middle although you will probably get away with annual changes. FWIW AP551 is marked 'DOT 3' so could be a good choice for track dayers. The old AP550 had a life of about a week, the new stuff should last 3 months in good condition. I found that the all AP-big everything setup bleeds really easily, which was an incentive to regular changes, you can do a dry fill on 0.5l. The small master cylinder and Sierra rears seem to make it difficult to be sure the system is free of air, which reduces the motivation to mess with something that pretty much works. YMMV. captain chaos
I put in all new fluid in Jan and bled the brakes only just last week only out of curiosity. They seemed to be ok and the bleeding has not changed the feel. I may be wrong, but I certainly do not see the need for bleeding the brakes before each track day.
