Violet Elizabeth
Am confused now. The klicktronic installation pics on their website appear to have the entire cylinder strapped down or clamped. Looking at the Translogic powershift unit, it has bearings at both ends ? The (slow) birth of the Gixxerham : pics here drivel here
Ferrino
They are just different mechanisms for allowing the actuator body to swivel, to compensate for the arc motion of the linkage. The Kliktronic actuator clamp has a bearing in it (well, the latest version anyway) to allow it to swivel, while the Translogic has a spherical bearing. Bad description...... Got the guitar, got the keyboard - now got the engine 😬
Violet Elizabeth
Gotcha, thanks The (slow) birth of the Gixxerham : pics here drivel here
Mike Molloy
Has anybody tried the Proshift system as seen in the Feb issue of Track & Race Car mag on a Radical? Looked pretty spammy with the paddle shift, but big $$$ I guess.
gee_fin
I tried to buy one from them for about three months....and gave up trying. Looked a good system on paper, but they just never got back to me so I stopped trying and I'll likely install the Kit-Car Workshop/Techtronics one. The one to go for if you've got the cash is the MiL system. It's leaps and bound beyond anything else on the market. It's pneumatic (got it's own small compressor), all micoprocessor controlled (can detect dog-to-dog clashes etc) and even sorts out full throttle downshifts (I kid ye not) - so if you're coming out of a corner in 4th, and you should be in 2nd, just keep your foot planted and tap down two gears, it'll blip/ignition cut/etc and off you go. Stunning. As is the price... Violet Elizabeth
Sorry, more questions How does the KCW one differ from the Techtronics (assume the Powershift unit ?) The (slow) birth of the Gixxerham : pics here drivel here
gee_fin
I think they're one and the same. ________________________________________________________ graeme finlayson / tyre warmer / fluke motorsport graeme@fluke-motorsport.co.uk / www.fluke-motorsport.co.uk
Violet Elizabeth
Aha, ok thanks. Am thinking about the Powershift PS1, Techtronics will do one without all the display gubbins for a bit less, and prefer to have a single unit than the two.
