Smiley syntax debate.

OK, when using ASCII emoticons such as ;o), what do you think the appropriate syntax and construction should be when you need to encapsulate the emoticon in brackets (like this :o) )?

Should it be like this-> [another example :o) ]?

Eh?

I've seen the letter u with an umlaut used as a smiley. This is great, as it is actually the right way up, and can have a bracket after it without confusion.

However I have no idea how to type umlauts in Blatchat, so that wasn't very helpful after all, was it?! *confused*

'twas only a copy and paste from Word - not that complicated!

I was actually doing some work (in word) at the time, so I think my investigations were valid!

Isn't is great being a woman - all this multitasking...?!
