masha
Is the Rover security system (ie plip key) just an immobiliser or an alarm too? - I've just had another key coded and on inspection of the receiving box there are some spare wires hanging out of it - could this be extra cabling for an alarm? If so what do I need to connect up and what would set it going ie what sort of attack would trigger it?
Red SLR
In theory the system should be able to have an output to a sounder or horn. I think the problem is the std rover stuff uses the door switches to set the alarm off and a 7 ecu does not have this wired into the loom as the 7 has no doors... Tony Martyr
The Caterham MEMS hasn't got the full set of vehicle connections to only uses the inhibit ignition part of the security logic. If you look at the circuit in the Haynes book for the k engined cars you will see reference to the central locking and the alarm
