timbo
no... not at this stage. plans are to build a complete strengthened short eng using the completely std head. That is arrow rods, which I can get locally, omega pistons, crank keyed, uprated ladder bolts, BE shells. I'll rebolt the std head. Map and run for a year. Future upgrades will only be head and cam work. Is anyone doing crank uprated main bearing shells yet? simonbell
Tim..........you will obviously need a test pilot for this new project given your reluctance to explore beyond 4000rpm..............I would like to step forward as the brave soul to take on this duty Simon Bell - Caterham 7 Duratec R I`ve seen the future.....and it`s powered by duratec Check out the website here
timbo
I was just about to voluntyeer to test yours.. but you beat me to it. Anyway mine won't be on the road till next year..... SV has to be sold first. Emerald Isle's 1st SV 148lbft @ 6091rpm/182bhp @ 6690rpm engineered for low revs
simonbell
Tim......doesn`t matter when it goes on the road..........it will still need a 4000rpm+ test pilot 😬 I`m only letting you drive mine if you manage to get the shift light to come on. My shift lights like to be well used........at least once every gear change 😬 Simon Bell - Caterham 7 Duratec R I`ve seen the future.....and it`s powered by duratec Check out the website here Edited by - simonbell on 10 Feb 2005 13:48:
