gee_fin
Ballastic 250N gearbox kart, Zip chassis, Yamaha YZ250 engine (single, 5speed), fresh engine (just two hours running) run only on Red Line oil. Four billet Brembo calipers, cross drilled ventred discs all round (x4) new brake pads, steering mounted bias adjuster, electric cut-off, high back seat, rear alli rad. Recently overhauled and serviced by Red Line. Used as a fun toy. Sold with long circuit bodywork (wing, sidepods, front cowling), bodywork is chipped from use but in full working order. Sold with two sets of slicks on rims (soft/hard compound) and one set of brand new soft wets on rims. Not for the faint hearted, but if you fancy something challenging to drive (145mph kart the can lap Cadwell quicker than the British Superbikes) you can't get more than this. With the advent of superkarttrackdays.com you now have even more options on getting these things out on track - F3-F3000 speed for £100 a day! Sold with a box trailer to carry the kart. Basic two wheel trailer, big box for spares that kart is strapped down on top of (no need to disassemble kart, can sit on there with wheels & full bodywork). Nothing fancy but has served me well. £1100 with trailer. 07747 60 60 66 / graeme@fluke-motorsport.co.uk, located in Stamford/Peterborough. pic1 pic2 pic3 Videos of kart in action - www.fluke-motorsport.co.uk/videos/2004videos.html ________________________________________________________ graeme finlayson / tyre warmer / fluke motorsport graeme@fluke-motorsport.co.uk / www.fluke-motorsport.co.uk Edited by - gee_fin on 7 Feb 2005 12:50:

Sam Monoogian
Only watched the first couple of laps but according to Windows Media Player the laps were around 44-45s. We were doing those sort of times in Club100 karts on Saturday. To be fair though Whilton's not exactly a gearbox circuit and it still looks cool. Ferrino
[OT] Hi Sam - hope the test day was more successful than the shambolic one I took part in at Buckmore Park! Looking forward to my first race on 19th! 😬 [/OT] Lobbying Caterham for a new badge....

gee_fin
Yep, Whilton Mill was just tooling around really, nowhere near what the kart can do. Just a day for sliding out of corners - we were lighting the tyres up on the exit of the 80mph right hander after the start/finish straight. Great fun, be slow as :) Never really tried to set laptimes alight in the kart, rather just had great fun with the power and challenge of driving it :) Graeme. ________________________________________________________ graeme finlayson / tyre warmer / fluke motorsport graeme@fluke-motorsport.co.uk / www.fluke-motorsport.co.uk
John E
Very tempted. Had one of these about 6 years ago and then went onto an FI chassis with CR 250 plus long circuit body work (ex Andy Martin) Quickest thing you could ever wish to sit in but old age forced me to give it up. very very tempted but would the back stand up to the strain

John E
If I can get my spends sorted and we can establish track day availability in the NW then yes. Only problem that I can see is that Three Sisters require a comps licence and for me that means medicals etc and it may also require some sort of training course but lets look at it. Red SLR
My main problem is where to take it, sure we have 3 sisters near by but other than that I think we are stuck? LeMans 2004 pics here *FREE* Seven related chat here

gee_fin
Have a quick nose at - www.superkarttrackdays.com For upcoming tracks. I was mainly using Whilton Mill and Reading (for tooling about). Three Sisters is a nice track for them. You've got Shennington, Little Rissington and (another tooling about track) Birmingham Wheels spring to mind as well. I also did two races in the very clubman series over at East Kirkby (£15 entry free! started off the back). Great fun, very friendly, very laid back and an amazing experience. And yep, I've played around with gearbox karts for years now as they are the cheapest way of going very quickly and a real challenge to drive. You step out feeling you've accomplished something by just not dying :) Joking aside though, I will be getting another one in the future, I just need to shore up some funds for the Rally Barbados as my title sponsor went bust! :( I'm happy to help give a hand the first time you run it as well, just to make sure you're 100% on how to run it and suchlike.
