Pierre Gillet
At about 3O000 km. Seems to be a normal life time? I fitted months ago a bicycle computer so I have no problem in the short term. However I would like to fix the caterham odometer.Any recommendation would be welcome relative to on which part of the system should I focus first? Cheers,
kenny.
MY speedo drive body kept breaking its base plate in the g/box...did this 3 times. On another occasion the circlip popped out........that's where I'd probably look first......on mine anyway. Pierre Gillet
Thanks Kenny. Is it a Caterham specific spare or can I find it at Ford or Rover? Cheers,
kenny.
Pierre, I had mine replaced by factory.....so I guess they must keep them in stock. Hope you get it sorted. Kenny HPC
Nigel Riches
Pierre, does the speedo still indicate the speed at which you are travelling? if so, and the odometer is not registering the kilometers then the fault is in the speedo indicator, as the mileage counter is driven from the mechanism that makes the pointer move around the dial this used to be a mechanical thing but is now probably some electronic trickery. This may be easier to deal with than getting to the speedo drive on the gearbox. Regards Nigel.
Pierre Gillet
Nigel, OK I mixed up odometer and speedo! No speed in fact... thus no mileage. I found that the little square end of the "angle" connector ( from cable to gear box) is worn. I figure that it must be replaced. The caterham compact disc quotes about 40 £. I figure thatis what I must order or definitively rely on my SIGMA... Pierre
