Drive 2 cars 300 miles, pay for 2 hotel nights to be 3rd reserve at Knockhill?

John Stewart has me down as 3rd reserve and says there's a 50% chance.

Seems to me to be a lot of time & expense for a 50% chance, even though the company will be the best in the world.

Could spend the money on a party and have everyone here.

Neil, thats my gut reaction. However I believe that reserves 5 &6 got on last year. It sounds to me like the reserves list is to meet the rules but on the day everyone has a go. (maybe I shouldn't have said that)

Lets see what everyone else says.

Norman,

At the KH event Ross took me to last year (same crowd), there were a *lot* of no-shows and some people waaaaaaay down the reserve list made it on to track.

Absolutely no guarantees of this happening again, but if the conditions look even remotely dodgy, you can bet that a few will pass.

Norman - as Myles says - I was about 7th on the reserve list and folk after me still got on *thumbup*

Also, it was a particularly beautiful dry & sunny day for Oct, thus being no reason why someone who actually made it there would turn down a slot 😳

I think lots of the scooby guys bottle it when they see all the 7s, elises, Ultimas, etc which would only show them up on track *cool*

AFAICR, only 1 scoob was on track at the same time as me...

Also, people drop out before the actual day *thumbup*

I think John Stewart's 50% is erring VERY MUCH on the side of caution, not wnting to give any false promises...

He does strike me as a very honest & trustworthy kinda chap, which is kinda at odds with the "Scooby Doo" stereotype 😳

Norm

Last time at Knockhill I recall that most of the reserves got on the track right from the start .

If my aged mind is not playing tricks I seem to recall somebody (Thinforth *confused*) was not even on the reseve list

So it could be worth it

The light at the end of the tunnel is probabally an on coming train *eek*
