Having just bought a 7 year old escort with my allowance to charge all over the country as it was unlikely to depreciate due to high mileage the same as a newer car would (i.e. sound commercial sense) I'm a bit peeved. grrr Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

They then said that I had to have 4 seats (i.e. caterham wasn't allowed any more) so I started running the manta. manta was sold so i replaced with ford escort that wouldn't mind the miles nor depreciate and they NOW move the goalposts again on age of car. And no, it wasn't in my contract. OTOH this is GROUP policy - we are a separate limited company and have to agree their rules at a board level.... My industry LOVES my car (caterham) and I more often than no (when it is working) take customers out in that as they love it.... You try telling that to the chairman. So - think I will be voting in a board meeting that I get to have my caterham! Interestingly it also states that the car allowance is set by "position in the company" - the car allowances for DIRECTOR level at the parent company are MUCH higher than ours.... I wonder if they enforce one rule whether I can make them increase my car allowance? (also, the chairman runs an old damiler on his.... is FAR more than 5 years old - though I don't want to pick that fight) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I am just that rare specimen of "in touch with his feminine side" maleness that can multi-task. the joy of twin screens off my computer - work in one screen, blatchat in the other. all day!
