Big heads on 1.4k

I wouldnt really think you would benifit too much from a vvc head or vhpd head. Also i think the valves are too big and would hit the piston tops IIRC. I had a 1400 stock engine with piper 270 cams, throttle bodies and an emerald and it made 127bhp. Dave Walker reckoned that if it had a ported standard size head it should have seen 140bhp. Any more than that and it would be cheaper to convert to a 1600 or 1800 IMHO

You would need to assess whether the spread of the valves is too great for the small bore, and also whether there would be piston/valve contact issues. The "eyebrow" recesses on the piston crowns may not be great enough for the bigger valves in the vhpd/vvc head.

Anyway, stop messing about and drop an 1800 in *thumbup*
