It seems odd that an engine used so commonly in motorsport has so little written about it. I collected any printed paper about this engine I could find: QED & SBD catalogs, plus artciles from CCC and a repair book, printed in Germany. Last one contains good informations about repairing and checking valves, head, oil-pump etc. Should you find any other good book please let us know. Also I suggest that you look at "Lotus Seven, Restoration / Preparation / Maintenance" by Tony Weale, published by Osprey ISBN 1-85532-153-X. Good Luck! I'll probably get the Haynes manual but I was really after a book on tweaking the engine.
