zilspeed
Cleco fasteners and pliers Just checkng out to see the level of interest here. If I can get 20 buyers I could offer the following packs. 1 set of cleco pliers. 25 x 1/8" cleco temporary fasteners. £20 + £3 P&P = £23. To all those at the back wondering, "what the hell are clecos" - they are temporary reusable fasteners that allow you to fit a panel single handed then remove it, de-burr all the swarf from the panels and mounting and then remount the panel properly. They also allow easy fabrication of things like pedal box covers and boot boxes. If you don't use these little chaps, you'll be drilling out a lot of rivets if you make any mistakes. The only other place I can find packs are from www.nfauto.co.uk Note that their price is £25 and that is for 10 fasteners - I am offering 25 fasteners with my package. For £2 less If you are interested, please U2U me or reply to this thread. P.S. - the goods are brand new and unused.
Myles
Is 1/8th the right size for the rivets used in the lowered-floor? Project Scope-Creep is underway... Alcester Racing 7's Equipe - 🙆🏻™ Alcester-Racing-Sevens.com
zilspeed
You've got me mate ? I guess the rivets are whatever size you want them to be......
Myles
What I'm getting at (by a rather specific route, I guess) is whether the cleco fasteners have to be precisely the size of the rivets you're installing - or whether they can cope with a range of hole-sizes... zilspeed
Ah right - got you. These clecos are for an 1/8" hole. You do get other sizes of course, but I'm getting them at a good price on a truckload of 1/8" ones. The pliers fit any size of course. Tony C
1/8 rivets are the size used to fasten the stone guards to the rear wings. You'll find that the floor rivets are larger and you'll need the next size up (or 2) of cleco. This devices or similar are EXTREMELY helpful when riveting anything 😬 BRG Brooklands SV 😬 It seems that perfection is achieved not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing more to take away.
