As new cars they seem to fill a market niche for people who think Volvos are too pedestrian, Mercs too bourgeois and BMWs too commonplace without being quite good enough. Good 2nd hand buys, I'll admit, from a utilitarian perspective, but I can't see why anyone would get emotionally attached to a Saab. The reason they're good 2nd hand buys is because they're all bought by urban architects in collarless shirts, fancy shoes and no socks who then go everywhere on public transport or taxi so as not to be seen driving anywhere. First things first, perhaps one of these here for £6k, and I still have to sort myself out with a 1.8VVC K-series rubber-bumpered midget, and a historic rally prep'd SAAB 94...
