not a Postman Pat Posted January 20, 2005 Share Posted January 20, 2005 FH It is indeed normally spelt Ciarán (pronounced Keer-awn), but the fada is sometimes dropped from the second a, which would change the pronunciation to Keer-uhn. Depending on from which version the English spelling derives, you will then get either of Kieron (the equivalent of Ciarán) or Kieran (the equivalent of Ciaran).
