rgrigsby
I'm just getting the various bits together for my Duratec install, the injection tank is easy but I'm not sure which fuel pump is best. Should I just get the standard Caterham injection kit or something else??? Rob G www.SpeedySeven.com
Peter T
Depends on what injectors you have, how much pressure they require and how much power your engine is going to produce. If you can give me some spec then i can suggest what pump you may need. Support the 7 Society...... Ehhh?
rgrigsby
Hmm ok I don't know the answers to any of those questions so I guess I need to go and talk to Ammo! Rob G www.SpeedySeven.com
Peter T
Yes talking to him will give you a starting point to which pump you may need. Support the 7 Society...... Ehhh?
Rob Walker
Up to 200 bhp standard pump over that you need the JPE /R500 pump
Peter T
JPE/ R500 are not the same. The JPE pump will only attain 4.8 BAR at 11.3 amps. Not sure what the R500 pump will do though, but it is a different part no. Support the 7 Society...... Ehhh?
Rob Walker
Peter I do not have any data on the pressure only the volume at a nominal 3Bar, standard pump 19 grams per sec , JPE pump 27 grams per second
MikeE
um, that's got me thinking. I've got a 230bhp 2.0l Duratec and I've just using the standard R400 tank and pump. Is this sufficient 🤔 ❗ 🤔 ❗ R400 Duratec 230bhp Build and Modification Pictures here
Peter T
What pressure are you running, ? If your pump was not up to the job, it would have showed up when your engine/car was mapped or dynoed, as you must know because you state your HP. It would be running very lean if it was not up to the job. Watch This Space
MikeE
The engine was dynoed (using what ever ancillaries they used). It wa then installed in the car using the standard R400 pump. As it happens it does have a persistent miss-fire but this as at part throttle around 4,500rpm, I need to get this sorted on a rolling road session I think. How can I tell what pressure my fuel pump is? and how do I know what I need? cheers, R400 Duratec 230bhp Build and Modification Pictures here

mic
Rob All the Duratec cars I've built have run on R500 pumps. The 2.3 which produces 250bhp is using this pump. Mick

Dobuy
Bu**er, well I am pretty sure my SV came witht the Standard vanilla injection pump. Seems to run aal right though. How much is a new pump anyway and what is the part number? Duratec Se7en SV, built in Dubai, pics here!
simonbell
Spoke to parts this morning......uprated pump £70 + theft I`m not shelling out unless I`m told it`s absolutely necessary......I`m waiting for more info from Caterham on the spec of the pump. I`m sure there are plenty of high powered k series cars running with the std pump. I.Mupferit
Just heard back from Len Unwin whom I asked seeing as they have a 2.3 and he has asked Minister who said for their 215 the standard pump is fine whilst they fit the uprated pump for the 24 hr car. So might just get away with it until Mr Upgrade comes knocking next time of course. 😬 Brent 2.3 DURATEC SV. yankeedoodoo
Could some out there tell me who actually makes these fuel pumps? Are they, perchance, standard Bosch items?? Thank you for any help on that!!
Luke Beaumont
The standard Caterham in-tank pumps are AC Delco 6443228. I've googled at considerable length for that part number and found nothing even remotely helpful regarding spec or fitment.
yankeedoodoo
Some one provided what I believe is a Caterham part #: E06443228. If the part # you have provided is an AC DELCO # then they would seem to be related. The number provided seems to be for an R500.
