MJS
When assembling the speed transducer to my six speeder I gave the oil seal over the plastic cog shaft one final tap and it retreated into the casing by a couple of mm more than I would have liked. The brass 'top hat' and circlip were then fitted and I noticed the top hat was loose and free to rotate. With the transducer attached, the top hat is still loose. What worries me is that on the move the transducer is going to spin and wind up the loom to which it is attached. Is it normal for it to be so loose? The circlip is definately correctly in its groove. Matt.
Paul McKenzie
Certainly on the 5 speeder, which I think is the same casing, it is normal for the top hat to be loose and be able to spin, so I don't think you've anything to worry about Paul
