Richard Anderson
Does the wiring loom come in two parts - a main loom and an engine loom? And is the engine loom specific to a certain ECU or do they come wired to a standard connector? I have a 98 SLR with roller barrel throttle bodies and a MBE ECU which I am about to rewire. Rich. Myles
There is a 'mini' loom on my (EU3 k-series) can. It splits with a fairly chunky connector just under the inlet manifold - carries TPS, IAT, injector, IACV and MAP signals IIRC). Don't think there is 100% standardisation - in fact, I've found alterations (or errors - take your pick) in the 'standard' EU3 MEMS plug/loom wiring on my car - absolutely no rhyme or reason why they should/would have done it - but it's a CC alteration/f-up. Rob Walker
Rich , You are correct your car has two looms, a specific engine /ECU loom and a general Caterham loom which again differs on year and spec. They separate in the engine bay at the large grey connector.
Richard Anderson
Thanks for info guys. Have just ordered main loom and ECU specific loom from Caterham...luckily, they had them both on the shelves, otherwise there would have been 3-4weeks lead time. Cheers, Rich.
