Englishmaninwales Posted January 3, 2005 Share Posted January 3, 2005 Slightly surprised to discover a worn offside lower wisbone spherical joint after 12 months/7400 miles (definite slack in the joint rather than loose in its wishbone housing). Blatman Posted January 4, 2005 Share Posted January 4, 2005 Try Rotaprecision or Autosport Bearings for rose and spherical bearings. I've used both companies, and they've both been excellent. Rotaprecision will need a trade order, but that shouldn't present any insurmountable obstacles for anyone with a PC and some imagination... Nigel Riches Posted January 5, 2005 Share Posted January 5, 2005 Not sure how your spherical bearing is installed, but I have one one the rear axle, and have been able to extend the useful life of it by making some "crap" seals to prevent the ingress of dirt, a couple of small rubber sheet washers cut to size effect a decent barrier, and a good wodge of grease around the outside, maybe something like this could prolong your bearing life. stevefoster Posted January 5, 2005 Share Posted January 5, 2005 I am convinced there was a bad or poor / inferior quality batch at some point. My first set lasted 3 yrs, the 2nd set about 1 year and this set had lasted very well. It's important to use bearing sealer in the wishbone to seal em in good and tight. Also does anyone know where I can get the right size lock nut to go on the top balljoints, got the balljoints but no nuts!! You get a new lock nut when you buy a new joint so there should be a few hanging around in peoples "I'll-keep-that-it'll be-useful-one-day" boxes. I'll go and check mine.
