dogvet
What would be the difference in weight between an average 13" minilight and the same in magnesium alloy? thanks in advance.
Graham Perry
Between 1 kg and 2.5 kg measured from my various 13 inch rims. Magnesium wheels are great though, particularly the R500 ones but they are a little fragile and it is very easy to bend a rim, particularly when changing tyres . Although as they are split rims they are easily replacable.
EFA
R500 Wheels are a pain to fit. The nuts are also unique to the wheels and cannot be used on any other wheel type. elie boone
Graham, Maybe only the center of your wheel is magnesium, and the rim is ali. because magnesium is stronger than ali.and will crack instead of bending but all comes down to the material spec. Graham Perry
Elie, Yes, Sorry I should have clarified that bit, the rims are very fragile though and need treating with respect.
