Adventures of Big Norm

Went to Chesterfield Royal Hospital Childrens ward to do my Father Christmas act handing out pressies. Thought it would be best going down the M1 and left an hour to do journey. 7/8ths of the way was at 20 mph (or slower) as an artic had turned over ON THE OTHER CARRIAGEWAY. The northbound carriagway was closed about a mile north of the Chesterfield (29) junction and the traffic as being diverted, you got it, via Chesterfield. Chaos and I was late.

But the traffic had also delayed the local radio station who where going to record and interview Santa giving out his pressies to all the little children in hospital over christmas.

2 teenagers thought the telly was better, one of them told Santa to piss off! 1 kid of about 6 was very nervous (wouldn't you be) but whispered "thank you" and another of about same age had just come up from theatre and was very proud of his pipe thingy on the back of his hand. Altl the others where babies under 3 months, most 6-12 weeks.

Made a perfect afternoon instead of working on the car.

Better was to come.

Got dragged shopping at 9:30 last night to ASDA.

Bloody huge store with a million people stuffing trolleys with a ton of food each.

It's a 24/7 store but the shelf fillers couldn't keep up with demand - remember this was 10pm!

We got out at 11:45 and the store was announcing they were closing at midnight to 6 am to restack the shelves.

If I drank I would have drowned my sorrows in a bottle of whiskey.
