art3g
Appreciate it's slightly off topic, however my V8 Disco tow-car has an increasingly annoying habit of dripping oil onto my drive & wonder if there's any wisdom on the best method to remove these black splodges? thanks, Art
Dave H
I put some neat (undiluted) powerwasher cleaning fluid on it, then powerwashed it. Shifted oil from the concrete drive no problem. Dave H
EFA
Art, Park it somewhere else...... All Land Rovers (inc my RR) except those with Metro engines do this. Seriously there is a modified rocker cover gasket kit (only about £100!!??) which cures much of the leaking in 1994 on cars....... oilyhands
Strong detergents may help, but beware of using solvent based cleaners which will have an appetite for your driveway tarmac as well. I watched a friend wash his driveway down the road when trying to remove oil patches using a carboy of Carbon tetra-Chloride depsite warnings. To freshen up the whole of the drive and minimise the dark appearance of any old oil patches you could try a light wash over with Jizer using a soft broom, followed by a two minute soak and then a hosing with cold water.Dont use too much Jizer and dont leave it on too long. Oily (appropriate moniker..)
