Sheds Moderator
Dave, you do loads of mechanicing. Do yourself a favour and buy a selection of metric and UNF fasteners, needn't cost an arm and a leg, I think one of Norman V's contacts will do a mixed metric bag for a few quid, then you have fasteners for every occasion. A man in your position can get hold of the odd food grade stainless fastener "that he found on the floor" too. (I know). It makes life a lot easier, at least till you run out of M6s halfway through bolting together a workbench. I've never looked back since running around in an old Spitfire, seeing the light and buying a mixed bag at the factors. Rusty bolt? In the bin. Won't undo? Angle grinder, right sunshine, you're undone now. Go on, give yourself a treat.
Jason Plato
I have got plenty of bolts at home and a whole stores full of metric stainless bolts and fasteners in work but no M12 x 1.25 pitch x 40 m only 1.5 pitch . Big chunky bolts are rare on the Caterham , 1.25 pitch even more so . all I want is some one who has upgraded to a dry sump ☹️ Dave C7 TOP Powered by Hellier Performance 😬 Now updated

Sheds Moderator
Ah, didn't realise they were 1.25 pitch. That is a bit of a weirdo. 1.5s are easy, as you say you have a workshop full at home and work and M12s are everywhere on everything but Caterhams. I've just used 3 to bolt a vice to my all singing all dancing workbench. Glad you are sorted.
