SvenDriver
After seeing scrapheap challenge tonight I couldn't help but notice that one team had an Intercity 125 style air horn - all 150db(?). It struck me tht such a beastie might be fun on a 7. Anyone know where I could find such a beastie? 😬
Bare
Dunno what 'Brand' yr on about.. but I've always fitted a set of Fiamm Airhorns to my Lotii. When Bus /Lorry Lug nuts are at Eye level.. a V good Horn is a Survival necessity. Relatively inexpensive, seriously loud when needed :-) Do.. fit the Air compressor as close as humanly possibly to the Horns.. Lag.. is v annoying. wag
Fiamm Avanti if I remember rightly. They have a super loud Italian higher pitched blare. Not like one of our refined British horns. perhaps the one thing missing from the Italian Job opening sequence.

Matthew Wheatley
Would it be possible to fit one of those air horns used at football matches and just replace it every couple of months? A lot lighter too? Maybe have that as an emergency horn in addition to the original horn?
Bare
Hehhh. my Son carries an AirHorn Gizmo in his car.. Basically a Small Spray can thing with a Red Plastic Airhorn on top. Press the button and instant Hearing Loss.. Interesting bit tho is that it has a Bicycle pump for repressurising the Spray can... making it infinitely resusable. Stevesvc
We have three trumpet air horns that sound a single note (not a tune) selling at £20 inc. compressor etc. Only a few left. Regards Steve @ sVc www.s-v-c.co.uk
wag
Ah yes, tunes. I remember a Capri with La Cucaracha (sp) on the air horn. They were naff at the time, but now that they are illegal, I bet we all want them.
Sheds Moderator
They always were illegal. I had a pal with one that played Colonel Bogey at 120dB. In his Viva, circa 1984 😳 The best sounding horns IMO are those on the 911. Loud yet musical, and yet another example of where the money is spent. Petrolhead
I thing the std caterham horn makes the car sound puny! Can anyone suggest a replacement - not airhorns R500 no 65 😬 I am after a pair of half doors and an QR aero screen.
Sheds Moderator
I hadn't even upset him Angus . It so happened that we were both "making progress" near Poitiers and he was kind enough to see that I was struggling to spot the overtaking opportunities (RHD car in France) so he flashed his lights to indicate gaps and followed me. Now we may imagine that he had a vested interest, after all any speed traps will pick up the lead car, but it was generous all the same. We parted company in Poitiers, me with a cheery but silent wave (ex race car, horns are too heavy ) and he with a blast of those very musical horns. *sigh*. Nice car Mister...
