philip smith
A quick question, What are the benefits of these drycell types over the standard factory fit? Weight? longevity? safety when competing? My 7 doesn’t get used that much and the immobiliser drain/mains charging cycle has finally killed it. Would one of these drycells take this kind of abuse any better or will I still need to look into getting a battery conditioner? Thanks
seemywestfield
I'll also take one PC625. You have email. Graeme Edited by - gwatson2k on 15 Dec 2004 20:33:

peterg
for Philip Smith Yes, these gel batteries can take much more abuse than a 'open' electrolyte type battery and yes they are IMHO safer in an accident as well As to whether you need a battery conditioner that is up to you but they're not exactly expensive - in fact for what you'd save on this bulk buy you could buy one 😬
seemywestfield
David, Not sure who your contact is but any chance of getting a deal with the option of including the charger, for example see http://www.knightbatteries.com/popup.cfm?p_n=256111&p_i=256111 For infor Knightbatteries are £90.40 inc VAT and p&p so this bulk buy is a great deal!! philip smith
Peter, Thanks for the info, sounds like a must have. Any idea which one would be better suited to a 1.8k superlight. Is it a direct swap? ie will the battery tray/retainer need modifying and are the Connections still screw type? Will a standard mains battery charger still work with them? Found a draper battery conditioner in halfords for £20 didn’t think that was bad? Thanks again, Phil Phil Smith Limegreen 1.8 Superlight No.

Jason Plato
I checked my battery last night and its a 580 model ! This fits in the std battery tray on its side and weighs about 2.5Kg less than a Banner . This battery has started my high compression 200bhp+ 1600K all year with out a problem . david nelson
Both the 680 and the 625 have diffrent dimentions to the banner. I beleave you need to make a few minor changes to get it to fit. David
Rob Walker
Arnie, I have the 680 fitted on the standard caterham battery tray on my car. It stands vertically you need to mod the fixing strap to accomadate the narrower battery. In my opinion the 680 has too much capacity for our application the best size is the one I got for Dave jackson a 580 this has proved big enough and mounts neatly on its side within the stock battery tray.
