Support Team Shaun_E Posted December 13, 2004 Support Team Share Posted December 13, 2004 I am selling my K-series bellhousing and have been asked by the buyer if it is for a long input shaft gearbox. Can someone tell me if it is and what impact it has on the gearbox purchase decision. John Howe
The bellhousing is to fit a series 9 gearbox and has no bearing (AFAIK) on the first motion shaft. The long/short shaft question is relative to the length of the shaft where it fits in to the crank. Some shafts have a longer "spindle" at the end that inserts into the spigot bearing at the end of the crank. In other words the problem is betwen the cranks shaft and the gear box shaft. If the shaft is too long, simply hack the requires amount from the end. A "search" will doubtless offer up the measurements but from memory it is about 25mm JH Deliveries by Saffron, the yellow 222bhp Sausage delivery machine
