Titanium heat discolouration

Recommended Posts

If you get heat discolouration on a titanium exhaust silencer is there a simple way of removing it, ie can you simply use fine - 1200 wet'n'dry - or does the discolouration go right through it.

Presumably the hot spot will have been caused in the first place by the packing going thin and transmitting the heat to the outer skin.

oh, and to anyone else thinking of going looking for said can, dont! its a minging hanging piece of crud, all bashed up, muddy and with what looks like cotton wool hanging out the pipe....
