Area Representative Richard Price Posted November 26, 2004 Area Representative Share Posted November 26, 2004 Neil, It looks like your request may have been fruitfull quicker than my request ❗ I've just returned from my first test run of my EU3 Supersport ECU. 😬 I thought the power may have been tailing off just before the old 6800 rev limit, but I think I was wrong! It still seems eager to the new higher rev limiter! 'Can't wait for next years sprint and hillclimb series! What spec is your engine?
NeilC
Richard, Glad to hear that it is a good upgrade!! My engine is a 1.6 with a ported head from DVA, larger inlet valves, MG TF 160 throttle pot, verniers and slighly milder cams than the standard supersport spec. My aim was around 140bhp with the head able to take more if I ever go for throttle bodies and an emerald. Next on the list though has to be exhaust.... It sounds great and revs really well to 6900rpm, hence the desire to change ECU. As well as the possible ECU from Count, I contacted Caterham and they will upgrade my existing ECU with supersport map and higher rev limit for £75+vat - seems like a bargain! My only slight worry is Dave at DVA has suggested that the supersport rev limit of 7600rpm is borderline for durability of the standard pistons - although I haven't heard of many (any) failures of this sort from fellow blatchatters... Now, what spec have you got?

Mr Locust
Neil Upgrade your own ECU was this a recent enquiry? Last time I asked it was supersport kit £1000 fitted or £1000 parts only. Richard What is it like when you aren't caning the 🙆🏻 off it? Ian Green and Silver Roadsport 😬
