Peter Duce
I have just fixed my starting problems, with a new starter and a new battery (one cell dead). I bought the battery from ARE, who sell the Caterham one for 40 pounds plus VAT. However on the old battery (which I no longer have ...) the overflow tube fitted on the inside of the car. With the new battery and fitting the same way round as the other one (terminals to front of car), the only place the overflow tube will fit in is on the offside of the battery. This means that the run is shorter for the overflow tube to just on top of the bell-housing and it is possible to catch it on the side of the battery with the bonnet. Anybody had this problem ... and fixed it please? Don't really want to turn the battery around the other way as the connections will not reach. aideen
Peter, Is this a Banner battery? I bought one recently and the overflow tube could be fitted on either side. As far as I can remember, there was a little stopper plug fitted, which I moved from one side to the other. Aideen
Peter Duce
Aideen, Yup it is the Banner battery ... and I should wear my reading glasses when fixing;-). You are right, just changed the plug and all is well. Thanks very much for your help. Peter
