Red SLR
Has any one done this? I need to move a pin so my shift light works. I just want to make sure nothing bad happens once I pull it to bits...... X777CAT
Andrew Dent
Simon, this is from memory, as I have just thrown out my extra wire with the Rover style crimp on it. The crimp will probably have a barb on it which keeps it in the housing. For you to remove the crimp, you need to depress the barb. This needs to be done by inserting from the connector side a narrow watch makers screw driver or something sililar. This should depress said barb and make removal simple. Tony Martyr
Just as Andrew says. Get a very thin jewelers screwdriver. If you tension the wire you can slide the blade on top of the metal termination and lever it down - you cant see the barb but if you keep the wire tight it will suddenl release and come out of the plug. The job is reversable if you havent vandalised the termination.

Red SLR
Ok, I have moved the pin to 8b. But now the shift light is perminatly out. Any ideas? It is a Lumenition CAL 600 ECU. X777CAT
Mick Day
Simon I assume the Lumenition is a badge engineered GEMS. In my GEMS manual the shift light is switched from 5c. 8b says EBFF?? (T3) whatever that is! Mick
TorAtle
(is this thread old? Simon is your problem solved?) I'm pretty sure mine's one 8b (GEMS), remember it's switched earth so the other wire from the shift light is going to +12, not earth.
