jackb_ms Posted November 11, 2004 Share Posted November 11, 2004 Hi Just spent a couple of hours dismantling the old exhaust manifold only to discover that the new one is fouling the engine bracket. It's entirely my fault, i should have fitted everything before asking to have the pipes welded to the flange. I have invested too much time, effort and money bin it. Therefor, I need to salvage as much as I can (nearly everything) Is there a way of de-welding stainless steel pipes? And who could help me weld them back on when in situ? Sheds Moderator Posted November 12, 2004 Share Posted November 12, 2004 Hi Jack, you have to cut the weld off with a grinder. Your dremel may be man enough if you have patience, but you really need a proper grinder. As Norman says you then need a TIG welder (a specialist electric welder) to reweld the brackets. The dremel will not be man enough to grind it off. ☹️ I'm a bit scared that everything might go wrong if i do it I spoke to Clive of Aryliam fame and he should be able to help me out.
