Tyrone
I'm about to replace the bushes on my A frame and radius arms on an early de dion. Numpty question, could I pull the car out of the garage, jack it up, remove the A frame and radius arms, drop the car down and push it back into the garage while I have the bits re-powdercoated and replace the bushes. The garage is too small to carry out the work.
Support Team Shaun_E Posted November 8, 2004 Support Team Share Posted November 8, 2004 Pretty sure the answer to this is "no you can't" as there is nothing to locate the axle fore and aft - it would probably put some rather nasty stresses on the drive shafts. What you need is one of these. Or do what I did and make one - in my case using 4" fence post and some castors from B&Q. I made 2 so that I can wheel the whole car around. duffym
Bri , if you do get one/make one I will have the same problem , garage is similar to yours if anything slightly smaller so even though I'm smaller there wont be room! Do you still plan on using a socket etc to remove the old ones and fit the new.
