Violet Elizabeth
Does anyone know what the nose cone NAca ducts on the RST-V8 do ? The westie-alike bonnet scoop is no doubt to get air to the double row of trumpets (gawd knows how noisy that thing would be !) but can't figure out what they are doing with the nose ducting here , just extra air ? Steve-B
those triangle shaped ducts were to reduce drag as i recall from discusions on the first tests of new SV chasis shapes. if you looked at the CSR at BH, you'd have been able to see how the flexible plastic "dam" is behind the radiator on the CSR to "dump" excess air though them Steve B Big Black Beast^3 USA 2005: How the West Was Driven
Violet Elizabeth
Ah, so they are "out" rather than "in". Thanks. The birth of the Gixxerham : pics here drivel here
Jason Plato
The NACA ducts on the nose cone of the RST are to take air *in* to the engine bay to help cooling . There are 2 lengths of 80mm piping off the NACA ducts under the nose which take air to the coil packs on the 2 banks of heads to aid cooling . I believe the ducts are from Reviere (sp?) The RST doesnt yet have any radiator ducting out of the nose cone The induction noise is actually quite low , the exhausts are also very quiet . Jason Plato
The bonnet scoop is to take air to the airfilter /airbox inlet . C7 TOP Powered by Hellier Performance 😬 Now updated

Irrelevant
Noger: The bonnet scoop is bespoke but they will make you one - I asked about it at the festival. Accumulating bits for the Super-Busa. . .
murph7355
Are there any detailed pictures anywhere of the engine bay? Quiet exhausts? Why ever would you want one of those (apart from on tracks too close to residents who should have known better!).

Violet Elizabeth
The bonnet scoop is bespoke but they will make you one "They" being Motopower ? The reason I thought it would be noisy is that the pics from Autosport just show bare trumpets, whereas those from the site above have an airbox, so no doubt it is quieter.
