Nifty
Having a 1400 Supersport would I be correct in saying that I don't need an oil catch tank to comply with the L7C sprinting regs? Sorry if I'm asking stupid questions but don't want to be accepted for sprinting next year only to find my car (or myself) isn't prepared properly. Jason Plato
Correct . If the breathers from the cam cover ( closed system ) go into the plastic inlet manifold then you dont require a catch tank If you have a dry sump then the breather from this needs a catch tank , or routing to the cam cover and then onto the manifold In my opinion , you would be better re routing the breathers from the cam cover into an external oil catch tank , as its not realy helping the engines performance to be breathing in "dirty" gas from the engine - you wnat nice clean air . Wont help the environment tho ........ C7 TOP Powered by Hellier Performance 😬 Now updated Edited by - Dave Jackson on 4 Nov 2004 08:34:
Nifty
Cheers Dave..it is a closed system into the inlet manifold..but not a nasty plastic affair but the earlier cast ali one *thumbup* If I start to do more track work then I may well fit a catch tank..or indeed a different engine 😬 😬 However, for now, my budget will be absorbed getting the necessities done rather than optional extras. Englishmaninwales
Dave If I do as you suggested, can I dump the charcoal cannister and associated wiring? Malcolm

Renny
Remember to make sure the catch tank is >1 litre capacity and has a sight guage so that the Scrutineers can check that it is empty. Renny Thomson MSA Scrutineer
