Support Team Shaun_E Posted November 3, 2004 Support Team Share Posted November 3, 2004 Just done this to get fuel tank out. From most good auto factors you can buy a syphon which has a bulb on the end which you sqeeze to start the syphon action. I have also seen them at the kit car show. As said above go for a good blat to remove most of the fuel and then when finished syphon the remains into a jerry can or other appropriate container. Petrol deteriorates over time so store the least amount you can and in the spring fill up with fresh stuff. Yellow SL #
Sue Dinnim
A technique which can take a little time but works is... open fuel cap strike lighter adjacent to opening stand well back generally the less fuel the better so it takes less time to burn out. Sue Dinnim
not if you're standing far enough back Peter but it could be prudent. 😬
James Tricker
Reminds me of a muppet I used to know who several years ago decided to drain some petrol from his clapped out Renault.....using an electric drill. I think the scorch marks are still visible on the road.... James (1.8 SV)
