Mark H
For sale Raceco 2.0 Zetec engine , Unused ( infact its still being put together by Ammo) This is a fresh rebuilt unit with the potential to produce 200bhp depending on induction system used. A change of plans forces me to offer this engine which was for my 7 ☹️ £2500. You may contact Ammo for more info if required . Readvertised due to unforseen circumstances for the previous buyer. AMMO
If it is of any help, here is the spec. of the engine: 2 litre Zetec with 0.5 mm oversize new Mahle pistons. ARP rod bolts Baffled sump Lightweight steel flywheel Heavy duty clutch Ported and skimmed head Choice of either Kent FZ2001 or FZ2002 cams. This engine would normally sell for around £3,000.00 + VAT. £2,500 is less than Mark paid me to build it. AMMO

NigP
Mark Nigel here still happy with my Raceco Zetec. Just another query do you still have any of the crossflow bits cluttering up your garage, I was asked the other day as I may have found a buyer for all parts remaining. Yours Nigel
Mark H
Hi Nigel, Glad to hear that you are happy with the car. Yes I have your engine, cylinder block, cylinder head and Carburretors which were removed from your car. I am no longer working from the workshop at Picton Farm, but have your parts in my garage, if you have found a buyer for them thats great. I look forward to hearing from you. AMMO
Just to bring this back to the top. Engine has been built for a while. Sitting in Grundisburgh awaiting a new home. Mark no longer has a car to stick the engine in so somebody with a tired X-flow might have use for it. Mark had a customer for it but the poor chap go laid off and had to back out of the deal. Contact Mark to buy it or me if you want to discuss spec. Mark is selling at over £1,000.00 less than this would normally go for. He paid me for the engine ages ago so I have no vested interest in seeing it go. I will donate £50.00 of my own hard earned cash to NTL if it sells before Xmas. Peter R Shaw
My crossflow isnt very tired yet ..... but was wondering how much it would cost, over and above the cost of the engine, to fit to my 1993 short cockpit live axle 7. Would i be able to use existing 4 speed box ? Road7runner S7S.1.7 X flo here
AMMO
Peter You could spend at least another 2K easily. Exhaust, engine mounts, bigger carbs (or bigger chokes in your existing 40 mm Webers), ECU etc. Four speed box would probably be OK but the rear Marina axle is not the strongest thing in the world. Several live axle Blatchatters have upgraded to an English axle which is stronger. AMMO
Peter R Shaw
Mines a ford escort sport rear axle ..... just thinking it could be an investment for when my xflow gets tired Road7runner S7S.1.7 X flo here
AMMO
Peter I had a hankering to get a live axle car with an English axle but couldn't find one. Had to settle for a De Dion. The Zetec would be perfect for your car. A long shot. I knew a Peter Shaw who used to be a cameraman. Built a couple of Duttons and a Cobra replica in the '80's when I was living in Sheperd's Bush. Wouldn't be you by any chance? AMMO

Nifty
Ammo, Following our conversation yesterday I noticed someone is asking for a Zetec on Wanted. I've guided him here and told him to contact you. (Will be in touch regarding bass/amp...I may have a little spare cash afterall *thumbup*). Keep off the straight and narrow 😬 Edited by - Nifty on 31 Dec 2004 10:45:
