mk1 elise 111s for sale

Recommended Posts

1999 T. 26,000 miles. Very good condition mk1 111S for sale.

Inferno Red, Black Leather interior, black hood.

Tax and MOT to October 2005. A-service just completed by specialist; new Neovas all round.

Usual 111S extras plus sports 160 throttle body, sports exhaust, CD, tracker.

A great little car for everyday or fine weekends. Will consider interesting (more trackable) part-ex such as BEC, Superlight R with cage, Exige or 340R. Missing my Superlight too much...

£14,750.

no, have decided to stick with batmobile for everyday; 340 bhp, smg is damned good, can do long lines of traffic at will, half a McLn F1 engine which is just orgasmic, you feel like master of the universe driving it

now need track-oriented toy; something strong and reliable; I loved the SL and it's handling was perfection itself but, to be honest, I want more around me

I thought the Elise would appeal to Mrs Toad more and it does but it's definitely not as trackable as the SL; it's fine for an occasional foray but I want proper belts, brakes etc.

an RS beetle would be fun but I'm not sure I'm old enough for one of those yet; nearly but not quite

Currently looking at trading against a racing VX seven or Exige...

What think you?

I know you had misgivings about the lack of metalwork around you in the Superlight, and unless you go for a full cage(and even then you are close to the action in a side-on incident), there is not a lot you can do about that with a Se7en.

Exige would be great, but very noisy and get very hot without AC I've heard. Certainly would be on my list of cars to think about though.

340R is stunning to look at, but horribly expensive if you knock it. I think Evo hit a kerb or something in theirs and it cost £000s to repair, as it had to have a new one-piece body.

So, what else... Radical, JP1, Atom, Ultima, LCC Rocket (if you could find one).

You could always buy Phil's FF Zetec and trailer. Not sure whether you can drive single seaters on a standard track day though...

Oh, and won't you be getting some 'end of season' used chassis back from South America shortly 😬

Guy

See some pictures of the build here. 4000 miles completed!

no, I want something I can drive to the circuit and to work occasionally; that rules out radicals etc.

drove an exige yesterday; seemed fine, good brakes, not a lot quicker than the 111S so think I need to find a DVA / Emerald one

the bloke had done 3 trackdays with a normal belt - I don't understand how anyone can strap themselves into something without a full harness - limited imagination, I guess

cheers now

There's a 340R for sale at the scooby dealer just north of Shipston-On-Stour. I think it must be one of the salemans or summat, as it has been parked outside the front of the dealership for 2-3yrs, but now has a Price Sticker on it

Half tempted myself, but at £24k it's a bit much for me at the moment ☹️

mark - yes, I was surprised that the exige didn't go faster, I know it's supposed to be about cornering but... I'm interested you thought it was a good one - 27k miles, dodgy privacy glass, no harness etc. I wasn't sure although clearly it's had money spent on it (engine rebuild, new clutch, decent set-up); hmmm - will see what they offer as part-ex today

phil - at 24k he's going to have a long wait; may be an american tourist will buy it

yes, yes, it is up for £20k, rather strong given 27k miles (not GBP); it's had money spent on it but I'm not convinced it's had the easiest life

things like alloy indicator stalks always put me off

looks good in metallic black but I prefer orange; I think I'm just going to flog the 111s and then find a good exige; there's one down in devon with a very good one owner history

I didn't have a good look at the se7en but it has a fantastic spec; if I wanted a trackday car that I would be prepared to trailor everywhere, that offers a lot of value relative to an SLR - what think you?

Spot on - as a trackday car it's nigh on unbeatable VFM (although it isn't as late a car as his ad suggests) but as a road car it's just too uncompromising and too tatty. I think I'd buy a Radical 1100 if I wanted a trackday only car though.

Have you put the Elise on SELOC?
