gkronberg
I am In Australia, and have been looking for a 7 to fill a void in my life, pathetic is it not. anyway, ....in my searching here in OZ , I have come across a gent with a lovely S4 seven, twin cam , fully rebuilt for Targa Tassy , etc .... but he does not have a roof or bows or the doors for it.... I said there are a great bunch of guys on the blatt chat web site who will know where to get this stuff from, or where to start asking questions ??? I also know from reading up in a lot of 7 books the DOORS are as rare as England winning the cricket ..... errrrrr .... hens teeth .... pheww think I got through that one ... and I didnt mention the war .... and I hope I was not out of line with that last wise crack .... would you believe ..a toothless police dog ... anyway hope you can help ( sounds of Gavin being escorted back to bed, and a straight jacket put on backwards) ( appologies to Monty python, Fawlty Towers & Maxwell Smart)
Sheds Moderator
Dunno about doors but I am sure a specialist trimmer/you could make some up. As for a roof, in Melbourne, why do you want one? Get a tonneau instead for parking and if it rains just keep you rspeed over 50. If the rest of the car is that good then I wouldn't let doors bother you. paul w
Someone like Ken at K.W. Historics here in NZ (www.lotus.co.nz) may know who has the original patterns to make doors and hoods to factory spec. Club Lotus NZ owns the jigs and moulds for the NZ assembled S4 and I would imagine that they would at least know where the patterns are for the interior and trim etc.
