If you read my posts, you will learn about the differences in oils labelled synthetic.

 

IMHO you should be using a good "proper" synthetic 5w-40 and I would recommend Silkolene PRO S 5w-40 or Motul 300V 5w-40.

 

Both these products are ester based synthetics.

check the chassis plate - should say on there. likely comma (something) 10w40.

 

ive been using castrol gtx magnatex 10w40 "synthetic" for 2 years (16000miles) without problems. but starting to take notice of oilmans advise, and learning a bit more about oil...

 

oilman - have you any experience of the CARLUBE range, as used by lotus motorsport and TVR?

It's not muck but it's basic.

 

If you are looking for better protection which of course costs more then go the synthetic route but it's your choice at the end of the day.

 

You can always email for a pricelist and decide which way to go on a cost/benefit analysis.
