mike mullard
Does anyone have a spare crank pully (Alternator Drive belt), washer & bolt. Mine disapeared on the way back from a very wet trackday at Rockingham on Friday evening. Was able to drive the last 40 miles with ligthts and wipers on & there was still life left in the battery. Thought I'd try this before venturing to the local scrappies or Rover, am in Surrey so can collect locally or pay postage. Thanks Mike
Allen Payne
I've a spare, but as it's from a 1400 it doesn't have the extra drive pulley on the front of it and it takes a fan belt with only has three grooves

V7 SLR
How did the toothed cam belt pulley stay on?
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted October 17, 2004 Leadership Team Share Posted October 17, 2004 *eek* As Nig is obviously thinking the same - I can't believe you managed to get home without trashing the engine *eek* The bolt that holds the front pulley on also holds the crank timing gear in place - without the bolt the timing gear is sat on a very dubious 1/8" (ish!) platform, and would often just fall off 😳 It must only be by sheer luck (and possibly the fact that the gear has never been removed and is likely "stuck") that you've got away with no serious (read expensive) damage. Many a K-series has been trashed through loss of the lower pulley 🙆🏻 Stu.
