Tony Martyr
I want to re-install an ACES gear change light system to my car. I can pick up a satisfactory speed signal from the tacho feed but previously had problems with the 12v supply. This needs to be fused and controlled by a relay operated by the ignition. Last time I used the heated window screen power supply. The unit only uses about 0.2 amps so it shouldn't cause problems. What is the best power connection for these tpe of wigets? TorAtle
The easiest solution would be to hook up to some fused +12V supply you don't need anymore like the heated screen you mention. 0.2A isn't much, what kind of problems did you have?
Allan Haighton
Tony, Why does the ACES shiftlight need to be controlled by a relay if it's only pulling 0.2 amp? Mine is run (fused) from the ignition switch terminals. Seems to work OK.
