In the process of stripping my car and will soon be taking the rear suspension off. My question is: will I need the 41mm socket for the hub nut or can I take the whole rear axle off without removing the hubs?

Reason for asking is that I haven't been able to source the socket.

no you don't have ot take it off

easiest way is

remove A frame

undo and remove the Brake Calipers, disconnect brake lines and remove from dedion tube inc t piece

undo 4 rearmost nuts/bolts holding dedion ears to tube and remove the driveshafts/ hub assemblies complete (put a tray under diff, some oil may come out)

Disconnect anti roll bar

Undo watts link (noting which way up the centre join is etc)

undo lower damper bolts

remove dedion tube

If you ever need a socket I've got one *smile*
