PTC Posted September 28, 2004 Share Posted September 28, 2004 Hi, Does anyone know what type of rivets i should use for repanneling my seven. The big issue is galvanic corrosion: Aluminium rivets are structurally the most sound solution but the worst with respect to corrosion. Aluminium rivets will be better in spreading the load over more rivets hence more sound structurally (bacuse they are softer). Monel rivets are best in corrosion but gives a very rigid (hard) connection to the frame. The Monel rivet is far to strong in comparrison to the bearing strength of the panel itself.
